Water Marble Nail Art

After watching a dozen video tutorials on Youtube (check out Colette, she does some amazing patterns) I have decided that I'll give it a go. I really like this style and it looks so pretty on nails. So I have prepared everything what I needed and started dropping the nail polishes into the water.
Then after about half an hour I managed to do the following pattern. Nothing special, but I was so proud of myself :))
I have used Barry M - Grey and OPI - Grand Canyon Sunset
Then I changed the colours and after another hour of trying....voila...what an amazing pattern! But unfortunately the last one. I'm not sure what I was doing wrong, but the nail polish drops didn't spread out in the water as they should have been. I tried everything - filtered water, bottled water, colder water, warmer water and about 10 different polishes.... So after 2 hours I gave up =(
Nail polishes used: Revlon White on White and Fuchsia Fever

And one picture of my work station. Very messy :-/
Have you ever tried this technique? Any ideas what I was doing wrong? Thanks for your tips in advance :)

OPI Burlesque - Little Teasers

I know there is already a million swatches of this collection but I couldn't resist posting this. I got this amazing set from my gorgeous husband for Christmas. It was the last present I opened and I was so happy to see it! I love the Burlesque collection from OPI and these 4 mini polishes are just lovely. I tried them on straight away and one of my favourite is The Show Must Go On (more pics to follow in the next post).

Even though all this colours are gorgeous my heart is still set on TEASEY DOES IT! and one of the glitters from this collection after seeing swatches here. If you haven't done so yet, check out All You Desire's blog, she is doing amazing swatches and reviews :)

Mac Vanilla Pigment

I'm finally a happy owner of this beautiful pigment by Mac. It's described as a frosted soft ivory white but I can also see some goldy-pink shimmer in it. It's very versatile, I've already used it as a lid colour, under the brow highlight, inner corner shadow and cheekbone highlight. It works really well and can be used wet or dry.

Eyeshadows used apart of the Vanilla pigment: Naked Lunch, Woodwinked and Carbon (lower lashline)

Naked is next on my pigment list! ;)

Bad packaging of UDPP

I thought I had already run out of my favourite eyeshadow base Urban Decay Primer Poition when I remembered this very useful tip. I asked my husband to cut the top off and voila.... plenty of product was still inside and it will last me for another month or so. So if you want to save some monies do not throw it away when it seems to be almost empty. But be careful when cutting the packaging, it's quite hard!
Hopefully Urban Decay have already been aware of this and will consider change of packaging soon. It'd be great to have it in a tube or something...

My Christmas Party Look

This is a look I went for this year. Very simple but elegant. The dress is from Primark £17 (yes, you can find some good pieces there!), shoes New Look £16 - as usual :), earings Debenhams £15, clutch Matalan £8. I kept my make up quite simple too. Neutral eyes with red lips (you can't really do much if you getting ready as soon as you get back from work!).
I was cheeky and begged my husband to give me one part of my Christmas present in advance - Mac - Reflect Pearls glitters. This stuff is just amazing - doesn't really show up on the pictures, but I'll do some more detail post once I get it officially :))

And to complete my look I used OPI - I'm Not Really a Waitress nailpolish. It's very pretty Christmasy colour. The pictures are taken on the third day of wearing it - I didn't get a chance to take pics on the day I put it on. So as you can see it lasted without chipping for full 3 days and I'm sure it will last for another 2-3 days easily.

Silver eyes

Products used:
  • Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation - shade Tawny - I love this foundation, it's my super favourite at the moment... it has a great coverage you don't even need to conceal (but I do anyway for a piece of mind (-: ) It stays on all day and doesn't move! Definitely the best foundation I have ever used...
  • Mac Studio Finish concealer
  • Urban Decay Primer Poition
  • Mac eyeshadows - Vanilla, Knight and little bit of Carbon
  • Sleek Storm Palette - Grey and Dark Blue shadows
  • Maybeline The Falsies Mascara
  • Mac lipstick Saint Germain (Clean pastel pink - Amplified Creme) - need to be careful with this lipstick as it's very pigmented
  • YSL Golden Gloss Shimmering Lip Gloss
  • Benefit Coralista Blush

Essie Aruba Blue

This is a nailpolish I get most comments on from men! Yes, men.... it's such an outstanding colour that even they can notice it. It's pretty opaque after 2 coats even though the first coat is not really convincing. You must try it if you like to be noticed :)

grrrrr :))
